Courtney Ross Blanton has spent her whole life chasing wonder. As a young girl growing up in South Carolina, she loved exploring the outdoors and asking questions about everything she saw. That curiosity never faded. It only grew stronger.
She attended Clemson University and went on to spend twenty-eight amazing years teaching science to elementary and middle school students in Columbia and Gaffney, South Carolina. Year after year, she watched her students light up as they discovered something new about the natural world. Those moments of surprise and excitement became the heartbeat of her classroom.
Now retired, Courtney finally had the time to chase a dream she had carried for years. She wanted to write a book that would bring that same spark of discovery to children everywhere. A book that would make them laugh, wonder, and look at the world a little differently. That dream became her debut children’s book.
Courtney is married and the proud parent of two children. She still loves exploring beaches and tide pools, still gets excited when she finds something unexpected, and still believes that nature is the greatest teacher of all. She wrote this book to share that belief with a new generation of curious young minds.
When she is not writing or exploring, Courtney enjoys spending time with her family and dreaming up new stories to tell. She hopes her book inspires children to ask questions, look closer, and never stop wondering about the amazing world around them.
With warmth, humor, and a teacher’s heart, Courtney Ross Blanton invites you to join her on a journey of discovery. The beach will never look the same again.
